Footnotes

A footnote lets you take a remark out of the sentence. The text then only shows a small number, and nexlore collects the explanation at the end of the note.

Footnotes with an id

In the text you write [^, an id and ]. Somewhere in the note, usually at the end, the same id follows with a colon and the explanation.

How you write it
Rye needs acid.[^1] Wheat does not.[^wheat]

[^1]: Otherwise the starch does not set properly.
[^wheat]: It rises with yeast alone.

The id can also be a word. The numbering follows the order in which the footnotes appear in the text.

Short remarks right in the sentence

For a short remark you don't need an id. You write a caret and then the remark in square brackets.
