Formulas
You write formulas in LaTeX, the language mathematics has been typeset in for decades. nexlore draws them with KaTeX right in your browser, without any other server involved.
A formula in the middle of a sentence
For this you put one dollar sign before it and one after it.
How you write it
Einstein found $E = mc^2$, the baker found 65 % water.
How it looks
Einstein found E = mc2, the baker found 65 % water.
A formula on a line of its own
If you put two dollar signs before and after, the formula stands centred on a line of its own.
How you write it
$$
\sum_{i=1}^{n} i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2}
$$How it looks
∑i=1n i = n(n+1)2
| You write | You get |
|---|---|
x^2, x_i | superscript, subscript |
\frac{a}{b} | a fraction |
\sqrt{2} | a root |
\alpha, \pi, \infty | Greek letters, infinity |
\leq, \neq, \approx | less or equal, not equal, approximately |
Lore saysIn the editor you insert a formula block with / and “Formula”, and below the source nexlore shows you right away how the formula looks.
